Caerleon Urban Conservation Study
ASH was part of a multi-disciplinary team commissioned by Newport Council to undertake an urban conservation study for the town. The objective was to develop proposals to improve the public realm of the town for the local community and tourists. Proposals identified improvements to roads, pavements, general street furniture and parking provision. The development of a coherent heritage trail formed a major part of the project.
Other ASH team members for the Caerleon Urban Conservation Study comprised architects and tourism consultants. The architects, Davies Sutton Partnership, developed proposals for building fabric improvements and the tourism consultants L&R Leisure identified a suitable site for a new purpose built visitor centre. ASH worked closely with both consultants to ensure integration of proposals.
