ASH was established as a partnership in 1979 to provide environmental design and assessment services.

Since its inception, the company has provided environmental consultancy support across a wide range of sectors, addressing various environmental challenges for public and private sector clients.

ASH has worked throughout Scotland and the UK for developers, design and build contractors and local government agencies. The company's expertise was founded on regeneration initiatives, transport-related assessment and design, and urban/rural landscape planning. Over the last two decades, our work has become increasingly focused on the transition to Net Zero with renewables, energy storage and electrical transmission becoming core areas of our work.

Today, ASH is a proudly independent limited company, owned and managed by Andrew Curds and Tatiana White. Consent for 13 hydroelectric schemes totalling over 140 MW of generation

Successfully developed schemes in sensitive environments and landscapes through effective environmental and landscape design

Consents for two new pumped storage schemes with installed capacities of over 3,000 MW

Developed landscape design and mitigation proposals to minimise the potential impacts of developments

Assisted in gaining consent for over 1,350 MW of onshore wind generation

Provided environmental compliance advice during the construction phase of projects

Successfully gained consent for numerous overhead line and substation developments to facilitate renewable projects and increase capacity on the transmission network
