EIA Coordinators / Environmental Consultants (All Levels)

Due to an expanding workload, we are looking for EIA Coordinators across all levels to join the team at our successful, independent landscape and environmental planning consultancy. 

Ideally we are looking for candidates with an interest in and experience of pumped storage, renewables and grid sectors as part of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and non-EIA appraisals to support planning applications.

You will be joining an established and experienced team of landscape practitioners, environmental consultants and graphic technicians, many of which have been with the company for well over a decade. The role provides an opportunity to take ownership of projects whilst being a key part of a close-knit team. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with environmental consultants and other specialists. The ASH team is large enough to resource professional support for major infrastructure projects, yet small enough to provide a personal, flexible service for clients.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities (dependant on experience and level):

  • Project manage the delivery of EIAs for a diverse portfolio of schemes

  • Undertake desk based studies and coordinate site surveys and data collection exercises

  • Manage, coordinate and prepare EIA Reports and chapters

  • Liaise with clients and project teams to ensure delivery of projects to time and budgetary constraints

  • Manage and mentor more junior staff members

  • Represent the company in public consultations and stakeholder meetings and contribute towards business development

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Environmental Planning, Geography etc)

  • Membership of IEMA is desirable

  • Experience of project managing and co-ordinating EIAs, ideally within the renewable and grid sectors is desirable for more senior roles

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Full clean drivers license preferred

  • Prepare concept to detailed designs in conjunction with engineers and architects, and monitor works on site

  • Liaise with clients and other specialists to ensure delivery of projects to time and budgetary constraints

  • Manage and mentor more junior staff members

  • Represent the company in public consultations and stakeholder meetings and contribute towards business development

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Degree / Masters in Landscape Architecture etc)

  • Membership of Landscape Institute or on Pathway to Chartership is desirable

  • Experience of undertaking feasibility, optioneering, detailed design and LVIA work as well as masterplanning is desirable

  • Ideally some experience within the renewable and grid sectors is desirable for more senior roles

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors

  • Good written, graphic, and verbal communication skills

  • Experience using graphic software including AutoCAD and ArcGIS is desirable. Experience using other graphic software packages is appreciated

  • Full clean drivers license preferred
